St. Paul's
UMW's Spring Efforts
On
April 15th, notable tax day for hard
working Americans
(and even not so hard working), the Susanna Circle at St. Paul provided
a Poor Man's Meal to the church's Wednesday Night Dinner program. The
ladies mixed up ham & white beans with cornbread and brownies with
ice cream-- a tummy-filling meal for anyone, but especially comforting
for those folks who owed a big chunk of money to Uncle Sam for 2008.
During June, the ladies of the entire St. Paul unit, with the help of
our church members, collected school supplies and health kit contents
to supply to Christian Mission Education Event in July at Lambuth University.
We wanted the elementary age children at CMEE to be able to assemble the
kits as part of their CMEE experience. After the kits were assembled,
they were mailed to Sager-Brown Distribution Center -- ready for UMCOR's
use on our next disaster.
